Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is a hunger free North Texas...
This holiday season 540 Mercantile is devoting our store windows to create awareness to the silent issue of hunger in our area. We are honored to step along side The North Texas Food Bank to support their goal of easing hunger this holiday season. Our windows read:
Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas,
Is a hunger free North Texas.
Father Christmas is making a visit with canned goods in his pack...
Our stockings read North Texas school children due to the statistic found on the North Texas Food Bank’s website. One in every four students in North Texas are food insecure – almost 300,000 children...
The other stocking reads North Texas Seniors Citizens to recognize the 2/3 households that the North Texas Food Bank serves reports having to choose between food and paying medical care.

Our windows are only a part of our holiday this year...there are four ways you take part in helping the hungry this holiday season. I have been working all year on a basket of earrings...
Make a donation of 3 cans and receive a pair of earrings! Forgot your canned goods?...make a donation of $10 and a pair of earrings is yours and you will provide 90 meals, with the help of Sammons Enterprises and the Beaumont Foundation of America every dollar donated will go three times as far!
Spread our message this year by purchasing our themed t-shirt. Each t-shirt sold provides 90 meals
